It makes no difference to your writing and publishing journey what others are doing. Stop comparing your road to theirs. You have decades of experiences they do not, and vice versa, therefore comparison is pointless. 

Your greatest strength and weakness, lies in your passion. It can be used to fuel great creations with reckless abandon for everything else in your life. Or it can result in wasted years on trivial activities that only supply momentary enjoyment; heroine.

It is normal to feel anger, but it offers little value to your life. Acknowledge its existence and use it as fuel to change. 

Want to be a writer? Then be a voracious reader. How else are you going to learn what has come before you, and how best to accomplish the task you have set for yourself?

Stop focusing on the big picture goal that you are working towards. That is there to set your path.

Focus is your super power as an author. It will multiply the effects of all your tasks. Finding the reserves during a trying day can be hard, but focusing is what leads to your success.

Do not put this off for any reason. You cannot go this alone. Writing may be a solitary task, but publishing is a group effort. You need your team.

Writing is a business. Whether or not you treat it as such will determine your success.

If your only reason for writing is the money, you are better off doing something else. There are far easier ways to make a living, and most of which will pay better. At least in the short term.
